Started as a marketing faculty at RMIT in Melbourne!

dezeen_RMIT-Swanston-Academic-Building-by-Lyons_17sqLast week I moved from the United States back to Australia to begin working as a lecturer in the marketing group of RMIT University’s School of Economics, Finance and Marketing. (For those of you who don’t know, in Australia a “lecturer” is equivalent to the academic rank of tenure-track assistant professor.) I’ll be helping to teach “Marketing Research” while progressing with my own marketing research.

You’ll now find me located on the tenth level of the RMIT Swanston Academic Building, which is pictured right. The $200m building was only finished a couple of years ago and has a very colourful style. Inside is state-of-the-art and environmentally sustainable. The building is located right in the heart of Melbourne and is thoroughly integrated into the Central Business District. According to one estimate, there are about 500 restaurants located within 15 minutes walk of my office. It also doesnt hurt that Melbourne is rated as the most “livable” city in the world.

I look forward to working with and sharing beers with my new colleagues. And I hope that my American friends and colleagues come and visit soon.
